Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.
